PS I Love You

Ok…I had a revelation last night: I want to live in a Romcom 😊! A clarification here: I am referring to clever Romcoms…of course! And…I can already hear some of you “are not all Romcoms boring?”…and my answer is definitely…and firmly: NO! And happy to recommend you some films if you would like to start opening your mind 😊

So…back to the key topic: why Romcoms?! I know…so cliché…but here are the reasons why I am not ashamed to assert that, YES, I love Romcoms…which are much too often directly ranked as stupid…or boring…or even ridiculous:

…I know that it will have a happy ending…and I LOVE happy endings!

…a Romcom is the transition phase between a boring miserable life and an exciting, loving and glamourous journey…is that not the ultimate happiness after all?

…one of the two main protagonists is systematically clumsy…here I am 😊

…the Romcom always takes place when the heroin needs a life turn…perfect time for me 😊

…the bad guys always end losing against the good ones…who doesn’t need to think so in our current crazy world?!

…the most common heroin ends up looking cute…even beautiful…because we start seeing her through the eyes of the male protagonist who is in love…please lift your finger if you have never -even secretly- dreamed about it?!

…their very banal…average life…could easily be ours’ and so we identify ourselves very quickly to their stories…or at least I do! So when all starts getting brighter…exciting…delicious…we suddenly feel that it could also happen to us! So…again…do we not all wish that future appears lighter…full of joy…full of smiles…full of love…?

…the male protagonist is always handsome but not in an obvious way…I would call it handsome cuteness…that’s my personal touch here ;)

…the music gets into your soul and body…and helps you going through the screen for few minutes…entering the scene…imagining this intense lover’s look being dedicated to you…almost feeling his hands on your face…wishing that time stops…Just play “She” from Charles Aznavour while you read this sentence…and you will see what I mean😉…

Ok…slightly…for not saying totally…cheesy…I confess :)…but so good though

Ok…slightly…for not saying totally…cheesy…I confess :)…but so good though

…the protagonists don’t like each other in the first place…either they are complete opposites…or one of them never looked at the other in the right way…and so, it makes us -at least me- wonder if that could have happened in “real” life…if that’s not what makes life interesting…intriguing…

It makes you smile…laugh…cry sometimes…it gives you a warm feeling even when you think it is cheesy…And we are all craving for the “feel good” effect

…quite a few of them are taking place in beautiful Ireland…so…Ireland is definitely top priority on my long list of places to go to as soon as life will allow it!!! And also New Zealand…for the movie “The Piano”…more a drama than a Romcom but made me fall in love with NZ ;)

…if you are wondering what is wrong with me…fasten your seat belt: this is only the start! The start of self-discovery…the real me is coming out…I am not ashamed anymore of what I could feel…or think…or dream of…I have my own reasons behind every single thing I love…and I don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore -lots of “any” here!…so goodbye to what I call “politically correct” or “things to think and do to be cool”…I am accepting myself as I am…I am proud of it…I love it…and long life to Romcoms! 😊
